Réalisé sur le vif avec Domotic, ce quatre titres au parti-pris minimaliste (voix, guitare, boîte à rythme) reprend les marottes fantasmatiques du trio :
la cavalcade sixties « Johnny Remember Me » (paroles et musique de Geoffrey Goddard, 1961),
l’inquiétante complainte dreampop (de Julee Cruise), «Into the Night » (extraite de la bande-son de la série Twin Peaks),
la sombre ballade populaire « Le Roi a fait battre tambour »,
sans oublier un titre de La Féline elle-même, « La Peur et le courage » (Wolf & Wheel, 2011).

Entre déclaration d'amour aux réverbes à ressort et jeu de résonances intimes, Echo sonne comme un souvenir : un accès de mémoire affective où prend corps une étrange mélodie intérieure, pleine de revenants, de nuits hantées et d'amours perdus.

The sonorities of this four-track EP, captured live with Domotic, are resolutely minimalist, featuring only voice, electric guitar, and beatbox, and tenderly reprise four of the trio’s most cherished tunes – Joe Meek’s 60s stampede, « Johnny Remember Me » (written by Geoff Goddard), Julee Cruise’s gloomy dreampop lament « Into the Night » (co-written by the singer herself with Angelo Badalamenti) from the soundtrack of David Lynch’s «Twin Peaks», the French heart-wrenching ballad « Le Roi a fait battre tambour » and, last but not least, one of La Féline’s own, the pop song « La Peur et le Courage », from their 2011 album Wolf & Wheel, reinvented as a melancholic three- step slow dance.

Somewhere between a declaration of love to spring reverb and a play of intimate resonances, Echo sounds like a sonic souvenir, an entrance into the winding paths of affect-laden memory where an odd, inner melody begins to take shape, one that is full of ghosts, haunted nights, and lost loves.
